AGRICULTURE IN AFRICA

Africa is renowned for its exports of top quality fruit, vegetables, flowers, tea, coffee, cocoa and sugar. Fish farming and production of livestock, maize, rice and cotton are also vital for home consumption and provide for a sustainable future. However, there is potential to modernise agriculture and the challenge is to do more with less. Balton CP is working with its African partners to introduce new methods of growing traditional crops, introducing the very best, high quality agricultural products and services, yet remaining sensitive to the needs of rural farmers.

As Governments invest in this area, Balton Tanzania can deliver new solutions, typically large-scale development projects, for commercial farms and agricultural businesses. These will enable agriculture to expand and develop and will help achieve a number of the Millennium Development Goals. We supply everything that is required for growing crops and rearing livestock, along with expert advice on cultivation, animal husbandry and post harvest solutions.

We employ specialists, with many years of experience in commercial farming in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, to head our agricultural teams. They have an intimate understanding of the challenges facing farmers across Sub Saharan Africa and know exactly what is right for small, medium and large farms.

The success of the Amiran Farmers kit in providing small holder farmers with the means of a sustainable future is testimony to Balton’s understanding of the single most important objective in Africa.
